Tribute to Mitsuo Katsui

1931 - 2019

This poster is a tribute to Mr Mitsuo Katsui who was a master renowned for his distinctive use of fluorescent ink and using geometry for his works. 

The first time I met Mr. Mitsuo Katsui was in 2005 at the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2004, I was assigned to welcome and received Mr Mitsuo Katsui on behalf of The Hong Kong Designers Association.  Mr Mitsuo Katsui was a nice and amiable person and I remembered he used three colour pens to sign his autograph for me. Thereafter we kept our friendship and exchanged new year greeting cards.  

To show my respect and remembrance of his kindness and signing the autograph , I used three fluorescent colour to sketch the portrait of Mr Mitsuo Katsui with the background depicting his name with a geometry typography .
